Description
"Kami-sama no Memo-chō" is a mystery and drama manga series written by Hikaru Sugii and illustrated by Mel Kishida, based on the light novel series by the same name. The story centers around Narumi Fujishima, a high school student who becomes entangled in the activities of a group of NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) detectives led by Alice, a reclusive and enigmatic girl who rarely leaves her room. Alice, who refers to herself as a "NEET detective," uses her vast knowledge and hacking skills to solve cases from her bed, surrounded by multiple computer monitors and plush toys.

Narumi's involvement begins when he is introduced to Alice by Ayaka Shinozaki, a classmate and part-time worker at a ramen shop frequented by the NEET detectives. The group, which includes individuals with specialized skills such as hacking, surveillance, and combat, takes on various cases ranging from missing persons to criminal conspiracies. Each case often delves into the darker aspects of society, including organized crime, human trafficking, and corruption, revealing the complexities and moral ambiguities of the situations they encounter.

Alice's deductive abilities and reliance on technology form the backbone of the investigations, but her emotional detachment and reliance on others to gather physical evidence highlight her limitations. Narumi, initially a passive observer, gradually becomes more involved, often serving as the bridge between Alice and the outside world. His growing role in the group reflects his development from a disengaged teenager to an active participant in solving the mysteries.

The narrative is episodic, with each arc focusing on a specific case, but there is an overarching storyline that ties the characters' personal histories and relationships together. Themes of isolation, identity, and the impact of technology on human connections are explored through the interactions and backstories of the characters. The series balances its darker subject matter with moments of humor and camaraderie, creating a multifaceted portrayal of its cast and their world.
