"My-HiME" is a manga series that blends elements of action, drama, and supernatural fantasy. The story is set in a world where certain individuals, known as HiMEs (Highly-advanced Materializing Equipment), possess the ability to summon powerful entities called Childs. These Childs are manifestations of the HiMEs' emotions and are used in battles against mysterious creatures known as Orphans. The narrative primarily revolves around Mai Tokiha, a high school student who becomes a HiME after transferring to Fuka Academy, a prestigious institution with hidden ties to the HiME phenomenon.
Mai's life takes a dramatic turn when she discovers her younger brother, Takumi, has been targeted by Orphans. To protect him, she awakens her Child, a fiery dragon named Kagutsuchi.
