Anabel Méndez is a Mexican actress specializing in dubbing, with a career spanning over four decades in the voice acting industry. She is recognized for her extensive work in Latin American Spanish dubs of anime series and films, as well as live-action productions. Her career began in 1980, and after a four-year hiatus, she resumed her work in dubbing in 1988 and has remained active since. She is the daughter of renowned dubbing actor Juan Domingo Méndez.

Méndez has built a substantial portfolio of voice roles in anime. She is known for providing the voice of Setsuna Meioh, also known as Sailor Pluto, in various installments of the Sailor Moon franchise, including Sailor Moon R, S, SuperS, and Sailor Stars, as well as the associated films. Her other prominent anime roles include Kurenai Yuhi in Naruto, and multiple characters in the series Captain Tsubasa, known in Spanish as Supercampeones, such as Hanji Urabe, Natsuko Ohzora, and child versions of Ryo Ishisaki and Takeshi Sawada. In the film Kiki's Delivery Service, she voiced the character Madame. Her voice work also extends to series like Digimon Adventure, where she played Izzy's mother, and Zatch Bell, where she voiced Zabas.

She played Kikyou in the Latin American Spanish dub of the special Lupin III: Dragon of Doom. She voiced Kaede's mother in the series Mirmo Zibang!. In the original video animation Suikoden Demon Century, she took on the role of Sister Saeko. She provided the voice for Anna in the film Magnetic Rose. Her work in the Pokémon franchise includes the role of Anciana de la Aldea de los Dragones, or the Elder of the Village of Dragons, in the movie Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice. Other noted anime roles include Lyudmila Schindler in 009-1, Sakae Jinnouchi in the Mexican dub of Summer Wars, and the Bosslady in Burn Up W.

Beyond anime, Méndez has an extensive career dubbing characters in animated series and live-action films and television. She is widely recognized as the first Spanish voice of Milhouse Van Houten in the animated series The Simpsons up until the eighth season. In live-action dubbing, she has frequently voiced actresses such as Angelina Jolie, including in the film The Bone Collector, as well as Renee Russo, Angela Bassett, Ashley Judd, and Viola Davis. Her television dubbing work includes roles in series like CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, Downton Abbey, and Game of Thrones.
