Toni Barry

Description
Toni Barry is a British actress and voice artist recognized for her contributions to English-language dubs of Japanese anime series and films, primarily during the 1980s and 1990s. She was born on June 26, 1961. Her body of work is closely associated with the early days of anime localization in the United Kingdom, often through Manga Entertainment.

Barry's career is marked by several prominent and recurring roles in science fiction and action-oriented anime. She is notably the English voice of Leona Ozaki, providing the voice for the character in both the original "Dominion Tank Police" OVA series in 1992 and its sequel, "New Dominion Tank Police," in 1993. This role stands as one of her most significant contributions to the anime genre.

Another major role was providing the English voice for the iconic femme fatale Fujiko Mine in the first Lupin the Third television special. She voiced the character in the English dub of "Lupin the Third: Bye Bye, Lady Liberty" (also known as "Bye-Bye Liberty - Close Call!"), which was released in the United Kingdom in 1989. Her work in the Lupin franchise also includes voicing Fujiko Mine in the earlier film "The Mystery of Mamo".

Barry's voice can be heard in a variety of other notable anime titles from the era. She voiced the character Asa in the classic film "Project A-Ko" (1986). In the "Tanoshii Moomin Ikka" anime series, she was part of the English cast, providing voices for multiple characters, including Floren and Little My. Her other anime credits include the role of Ran in "Blue Sonnet," Shoko in "Bounty Dog" (also known as "獵殺月球"), and Matsuri Toba in "Sohryuden - Legend of the Dragon Kings". She also voiced Karen Kasumi in the 1996 anime film "X".

In addition to her extensive anime voice work, Barry's career spanned live-action television and film, as well as other voice acting roles. She appeared in the British television series "Press Gang" and provided voices for the iconic children's program "Teletubbies". Her later work included voice roles in video games such as "Space Channel 5: Part 2" and "Colony Wars: Red Sun". Information suggests that Toni Barry is now retired from the acting and voice-over industry.
