Michael Schwartz

Description
Michael Schwartz is an American voice actor known for his work in English-language dubs of anime series and original video animations, primarily during the 1990s. His credited roles are predominantly for characters in fantasy and science fiction genres.

Schwartz provided the English voice for Asterote, commonly referred to as Aster, in the anime television series Maze. The series, also known as Maze: The Mega-Burst Space, originally aired in Japan in 1997. Aster is a key character in the series, which follows the adventures of a protagonist who transforms between a female and male persona in a fantasy world. The English adaptation of Maze was produced by Software Sculptors and released in North America starting in 2000.

In the 1997 science fiction anime series Virus Buster Serge, Schwartz voiced the character Marcus Alexander Bogard. The series is set in a futuristic Neo Hong Kong where a genetically engineered virus causes widespread chaos. The English-language version of the series was produced at Matlin Recording, a studio frequently involved in dubbing anime during that era.

Schwartz also lent his voice to the character Onimaru Tarôja in the English dub of the original video animation Spirit Warrior, also known as Peacock King. This OVA, produced by Madhouse and directed by Rintaro, is based on a manga and features supernatural and occult themes. Schwartz's role as Onimaru appears in the first episode of the 1994 revival of the franchise. The English version for this title was also handled by Matlin Recording.

His body of work reflects the landscape of anime dubbing in the 1990s, where he frequently collaborated with a consistent group of voice actors such as Tara Sands, Matthew Harrington, and Debora Rabbai, as well as recording studios like Matlin Recording, which produced the English adaptations for several of his projects.
