Agnès Gribe

Description
Agnès Gribe is a French actress primarily known for her extensive work in voice dubbing, particularly for animated series and films. Her career in dubbing began after she met her husband, the actor and director Philippe Ogouz, which led to her entry into the world of voice-over. Prior to this, she had pursued acting lessons at the Cours Simon and worked in radio, hosting the show Campus on Europe 1, where she interviewed prominent French singers. She also co-hosted the talk-show Tous en scène with Patrick Poivre d'Arvor in 1984.

Gribe is recognized for providing the French voices for numerous characters in iconic anime series. She is notably the voice of Lieutenant Hélène Lamberti, the French name for the character Saeko Nogami, across the various installments of the Nicky Larson franchise (City Hunter). This includes the original Nicky Larson television series, the TV special City Hunter: Services Secrets, and the 2019 film City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes (Nicky Larson Private Eyes). Her involvement with the works of studio Sunrise also includes the series Tenkū Senki Shurato, where she voiced the characters Astree and the goddess Kail.

Another significant part of her career is her work on the French adaptation of Sailor Moon. For the first four seasons, she was the voice of several major characters, including the protagonist's feline companion Luna, the Sailor Guardian Marcy (Sailor Jupiter), and the villain Queen Beryl (Reine Péril). In later seasons, her roles within the same series expanded to include Mylène (Sailor Neptune), Olivia (Sailor Saturn), and Sylvana (Sailor Pluton). Her work also extends to other classic anime, such as providing the second voice for the Queen in the 1989 dub of Princess Knight (Princesse Saphir) and the voice of Maria in La Légende de Zorro.

Beyond animation, Gribe has lent her voice to numerous live-action series and films. She is well-known for dubbing Catherine Sutherland as Katherine Hillard, the second Pink Ranger, in the Power Rangers franchise, as well as Machiko Soga as the villain Rita Repulsa. Her live-action dubbing repertoire also includes roles in popular American series such as Dallas, Côte Ouest (Knots Landing), and Twin Peaks. Throughout her career, she has expressed a preference for dubbing animation, finding it allows for more freedom and extroversion compared to the stricter requirements of lip-syncing for live-action roles.
