Giuseppe Russo
Description
Born in Rome to an Italian physician, Giuseppe Russo began his artistic journey as a classical pianist, recognized as a prodigy from the age of eight. He later transitioned to acting, training extensively in Rome with instructors such as Carlo Merlo at the Art Clesis Rome Academy and Beatrice Bracco, who taught him the Stanislavsky technique. He furthered his studies with Claudio Boccaccini, Annamaria Cianciulli in the Meisner Method, and Bernard Hiller. After relocating to Los Angeles, he spent three years in Ivana Chubbuck's invitation-only master class and has continued his training with Robyn Dale Mayers.
In his native Italy, Russo established himself as a well-known television and film actor, with appearances in popular series such as Lo Zio D'America, The Teacher, Gente Di Mare, and Distretto Di Polizia, as well as films including Non Smettere Di Sognare, Operazione Stradivari, and Il Buio. His stage work has also garnered critical acclaim, earning him the CTR's Angelo Perugini Best Actor award in 2011 for his performance in the Italian production of Tango. After moving to Los Angeles, he expanded his on-camera work to include a co-starring role on the Ryan Murphy FX series Feud alongside Alfred Molina and an appearance in Francis Ford Coppola's live cinema short, Distant Vision.
As a voice actor, Giuseppe Russo has built an extensive portfolio dubbing major international productions into Italian. His notable voice credits include roles in prominent films such as Pixar's Luca, Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and the horror film A Classic Horror Story. In the realm of animation and series, he provided the Italian voice for the character Jason in the 2021 Netflix anime series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. His filmography also includes Italian voice work for feature films like Ferrari, The Equalizer 3, and The First Omen.
Expanding his performance repertoire, Russo made his motion capture debut at the end of 2024 with the character Fiore in the MachineGames video game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. He has also taken on roles in audio productions, such as the character Ricci in the podcast The King of the Peso.
