Javier Balas

Description
Javier Balas is a Spanish voice actor born on November 8, 1976, in Parla, Madrid, Spain. His entry into the world of dubbing began at a young age; he started doing theater in school at the age of eleven, and his theater teacher, who was also a dubbing director, provided him with his first opportunities in the field. His early career included roles in productions such as the series "La Ley de los Ángeles". Before dedicating himself fully to dubbing, he worked other jobs, including loading trucks at Carrefour, during periods of slowdown in the dubbing industry.

Balas is best known in the anime community for his extensive and iconic roles. He is particularly recognized as the Spanish voice of Brock in the long-running Pokémon anime series, a role he has reprised for numerous films and specials, including "Pokémon: The Arceus Chronicles," "Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution," "Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life," "Pokémon Zoroark: Master of Illusions," "Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai," "Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl," "Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea," "Pokémon: The Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon," "Pokémon Heroes - Latias & Latios," and "Pokémon 4Ever". Another landmark role is that of Naruto Uzumaki in the Spanish dub of the "Naruto" and "Naruto Shippūden" series, as well as the special "Naruto Special: Battle at Hidden Falls. I Am the Hero!". His portrayal of the character was a significant point of discussion among fans at the time of the series' debut in Spain.

Beyond these signature roles, his filmography in anime is extensive and varied. He voiced Joe Kido and Tentomon in the film "Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna," and has taken on roles in a wide range of other series. These include Allegro in "Vampire in the Garden," Lars in "BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-," Masamichi Isami in "A Whisker Away," Jack in "Little Women II Jo's Boys," Nick in "Touch: Cross Road - Kaze no Yukue," and Soma in "Kouchuu Ouja Mushiking ~Mori no Tami no Densetsu~". He has also contributed to other major franchises, providing voices for characters in "One Piece," "Yu-Gi-Oh!," "Inazuma Eleven," "Beyblade," and "Pretty Cure".

In addition to his work in anime, Balas has voiced characters in live-action series and video games. Notable roles include Joffrey Baratheon in "Game of Thrones," Buford in "Phineas and Ferb," LJ in "Prison Break," and a young Nathan Drake in the video games "Uncharted 3" and "Uncharted 4". He has also contributed voices to films such as "Atrapa la bandera" and "Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas".

Beyond acting, Javier Balas has also taken on roles in dubbing direction. He has served as the ADR director for the Spanish versions of several animated series, including "Vampire in the Garden," "Kakegurui twin," and "Dragon's Dogma". Throughout his career, his work has been recognized by fans, including receiving a best voice actor award at an expo in Madrid for his portrayal of Naruto. He describes the essence of good dubbing as a form of imitation where the goal is for the audience to be unaware of the dubbing work, allowing the voice to become one with the character.
