Luisa D'Aprile

Description
Luisa D'Aprile is an Italian voice actress recognized for her work in dubbing for film, television, and animation. Originally from the Puglia region, she developed an early interest in voice performance, studying diction and participating in theatrical workshops during her youth. To pursue a career in dubbing, she moved to Rome and furthered her training by attending masterclasses focused on the craft with established voice actors Luca Ward and Davide Lepore. Her entry into the professional industry involved persistent effort, including presenting herself at dubbing studios and auditioning, which eventually led to her first professional engagements.

Her voice can be heard across a wide array of productions for both streaming platforms and traditional broadcast television. In the realm of live-action, she has dubbed leading roles such as Riri Williams / Ironheart in the Disney+ series Ironheart, Morgan in the Netflix series Nobody Wants This, and Tamara in the live-action series Occhi di Gatto, which airs on Rai 2 and RaiPlay. She also voices Jana Expósito in the daily soap opera La Promessa on Rete 4. Her film work includes dubbing Sherry in Mr. Morfina and Pearline in I Peccatori.

In the field of animation and anime, D'Aprile has contributed her voice to several notable projects. She is the Italian voice of the character Charlotte in the anime series Black Rock Shooter: Dawn Fall, which was dubbed in Italy under the direction of Rossa Caputo at Pumaisdue studio and made available on Disney+. She has also voiced characters in various other productions, including the television series The Sandman, Locke & Key, and Tenebre e ossa, as well as the film Ron - Un amico fuori programma.

Reflecting on her approach to the craft, D'Aprile has described the process of finding the right vocal quality for each character as a form of personal growth, allowing her to explore a range of emotions. She has cited the characters Evan Shepherd from Countdown and Jana Expósito from La Promessa as being particularly close to her own personality due to their positive and determined nature. In contrast, she found the role of Iris in Mayor of Kingstown to be a significant departure from herself, requiring extensive internal work to accurately portray the character's difficult background and involvement in dangerous circumstances.
