His career in performance began somewhat by chance in 1962 when he accompanied a friend to TV Tupi and was invited to participate in a new segment on the program Show de Sorrisos. This opportunity launched his on-screen career, during which he also worked as a radio actor for Rádio MEC. He balanced his artistic pursuits with academic ones, earning a degree in Psychology from Faculdade Santa Úrsula do Rio in 1973. Parallel to his live-action work, Alfredo Martins began his extensive career in dubbing in 1963 at the renowned Herbert Richers studio. He was among the first eleven actors to be contracted specifically as dubladores in Rio de Janeiro, working at the studio Riosom during this early period. Martins has an extensive and varied filmography in Brazilian dubbing, lending his voice to numerous anime and animated series. He is the Portuguese voice of Geo Noto Soto, the priest of Metallicana, in the Netflix anime series BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-. In the world of military fantasy, he voices the character Loria in the series Saga of Tanya the Evil. His work also extends to anthology projects, such as providing the voice for The Prophet in Halo Legends. Other notable anime and animation roles include Adão in In The Beginning - The Bible Stories, Peter Johanssen in Yūsei Kamen, Bob, o Gênio in a new dubbing of Hakushon Daimaō, and Hotshot in Transformers: Robots in Disguise. His range is further demonstrated by roles such as Kaiser Granvorka in Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, Claus Van Bogoot in Cyborg 009 The Cyborg Soldier, Dr. Sid in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Paul Hanbridge in Little Witch Academia, and the Elder Zarude in Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle.
