Kouichi Makishima is a Japanese actor and voice actor born in Tokyo on January 1, 1957. He began his career on the stage after joining the prestigious Haiyuza Theatre Company in 1979, an affiliation he has maintained throughout his professional life. His foundation in theatre, with performances in classic and contemporary plays, has underpinned a long and varied career that spans stage, television drama, film, and voice acting.

Makishima has built an extensive body of work in voice acting for anime, bringing his versatility to a wide range of characters. Among his notable anime roles are Shin Seijou in the long-running historical series Kingdom and Don Teabolo Mass in the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin installments, including The Origin II: Artesia's Sorrow and The Origin V: Clash at Loum. His filmography also includes roles in Mob Psycho 100 as Gen, in Kuromukuro as Aramata Minoru, and in Orb: On the Movements of the Earth as Potocki.
