Akiko Hasegawa

Akiko Hasegawa is a Japanese voice actress and singer affiliated with Arts Vision, who began her career in 2006 and is best known for her long-running role as Miki Hoshii in The IDOLM@STER franchise. Born on April 14th in Niigata Prefecture, she was inspired to become a voice actor after watching the anime Please Save My Earth. She is a graduate of the Yoyogi Animation Academy.
Hasegawa's debut and breakthrough role came in 2006 when she was cast as the newly created character Miki Hoshii for the Xbox 360 version of THE IDOLM@STER, a role she officially introduced at that year's Tokyo Game Show. This part became the defining role of her career, which she has reprised across numerous related projects. These include the television anime The iDOLM@STER, the OVA iDOLM@STER: Live For You!, the web anime PUCHIM@S and its sequel PUCHIM@S 2, the film THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE: Kagayaki no Mukōgawa e!, the video game The iDOLM@STER Shiny Festa, and many other games in the series. In the PUCHIM@S series, she also voices a small, pet-like creature named Afuu, who is Miki's companion.
Beyond The IDOLM@STER, Hasegawa has built a diverse portfolio of voice roles. Her other anime credits include Remi Ayasaki in the OVA Hori-san to Miyamura-kun, Garnet in Blessing of the Campanella, Rena Ashihara in Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS, Sayu Mihashira in the web anime Copihan, and Nono Nonohara in Ore-sama Kingdom: Gelände de Love Choco no Maki. She also voiced the character Kurumi Risu-chan in the Sylvanian Families series. In video games, her roles include Sapphire in the Disgaea franchise, Ruu Narita in Photo Kano, and Marie in Granblue Fantasy.
In addition to voice acting, Hasegawa has pursued a solo singing career under the 5pb.Records label. She released her debut single, LEVEL∞, in 2009, followed by several other singles and a full album titled Simply Lovely in 2011. Hasegawa announced her marriage to a man outside the entertainment industry in February 2014, and she gave birth to their first child, a son, in August 2015.
