Jason Deline
Description
Jason Deline is a Canadian actor and voice actor whose career spans animation, film, television, and commercial work. He was born on October 20, 1977, in Toronto, Canada. His early career included a role in the Canadian teen series Ready or Not, and he later pursued radio broadcasting, which provided a foundation for his extensive voice-over work. In addition to performing, Deline is also a director, comedian, and voice coach who created the Find Your Voice workshop series and developed a Voice-over for Improvisers course at The Second City Toronto.
Deline is most widely recognized for his long-standing role as the voice of Drago, the Dragonoid, in the Bakugan franchise. He first voiced the character in Bakugan Battle Brawlers in 2007 and continued in subsequent series, including Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia, Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Gundalian Invaders, and Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge. He later returned to the role for the franchise's reboot, voicing Dragonoid in Bakugan: Battle Planet, Bakugan: Armored Alliance, and Bakugan: Legends. His involvement with the series spanned over fifteen years, concluding with Bakugan: Evolutions in 2022. Beyond Drago, he also voiced the characters Ryo and Razor in the Bakugan series.
Outside of the Bakugan franchise, Deline has been a prominent voice in other anime and animated series. He voiced Benkei in the Beyblade Metal Saga, including Metal Fusion, Metal Masters, and Metal Fury, as well as Beyblade: Shogun Steel. He also provided the voice of Glen in the Beyblade spin-off BeyWheelz. His other notable voice roles include Neeko and Tetsuo in Chop Chop Ninja, Bow Hothoof in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and various roles in the long-running series Arthur.
In addition to his animation work, Deline has appeared in live-action television and film. His credits include roles in the BBC miniseries Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Star Trek: Discovery, Arrow, The Night Agent, and Dead Boy Detectives. He has also appeared in feature films such as X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Walk. Deline is also an in-demand voice for commercials, having voiced campaigns for major brands like Dodge Ram, Subaru, Coca-Cola, and Tim Hortons.
In recognition of his voice acting work, Deline received a Leo Award nomination in 2023 for Best Performance in an Animation Series for his role in Saving Me. As a director, his credits include voice directing on the animated project Crack-Duck.
