Description
Will Bowes is a Canadian actor, voice actor, director, and singer-songwriter based in Toronto. He has won a Canadian Screen Award for his directing work and is also a two-time first-place winner in the International Songwriting Competition. While his on-screen acting includes roles in films such as Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and House at the End of the Street, as well as television series like Alias Grace, Spinning Out, and Murdoch Mysteries, he is also widely recognized for his contributions to English-dubbed anime and animated series.
Bowes's most prominent voice work is within the Bakugan franchise, starting with the 2018 series Bakugan: Battle Planet. In this series, he voiced two significant characters: Lightning, the Awesome Brawlers' pet French Bulldog and a Darkus Brawler himself, and Benton Dusk, a mysterious figure central to the show's plot. He also provided the voice for the Bakugan creature Maxotaur in the same series. His involvement with the franchise continued in its subsequent seasons, reprising his roles as Lightning and Benton Dusk in Bakugan: Armored Alliance and Bakugan: Legends. Beyond these main roles, his voice can be heard in additional capacities across multiple episodes of the Bakugan series, voicing various background characters such as a Pastry Chef, Illuminators, Brawlers, and Security Force Members.
Prior to his extensive work in the Bakugan reboot, Bowes had a role in the 2012 anime-inspired series BeyWheelz: Powered by Beyblade, where he voiced the character Jake. His recurring collaborations are notably with the Toronto-based voice cast frequently assembled for dubbing productions by studios like Nelvana. He has worked alongside voice actors such as Jonah Wineberg, Deven Mack, Margarita Valderrama, Scott Law, Cory Doran, and Dan Petronijevic across the Bakugan and BeyWheelz series, demonstrating a consistent presence in the Canadian animation voice-over industry.
