Description
Lightning is a French Bulldog character appearing in *Bakugan: Battle Planet* and continuing into *Geogan Rising*. He sports white fur adorned with brown patches on his ears, head, and tail, plus a distinct brown heart-shaped symbol on his side. Originally a stray discovered near Dan Kouzo's home, Lightning serves as the unofficial mascot and lookout for the Awesome Brawlers, a group of young brawlers creating prank videos and battling Bakugan.
He communicates via barks and gestures, understood fully only by Bakugan and the audience, though his human companions recognize his loyalty and instincts. A collar fitted with two small balls enables him to carry and deploy his Bakugan partners in battle. Initially, his guardian Bakugan was the Darkus Howlkor, a Cerberus-like partner selected for Lightning's animal instincts; their dynamic saw Lightning learning to assert control as Howlkor valued his potential as an alpha partner. Lightning later partnered with Artulean and Phaedrus across *Battle Planet* and *Armored Alliance*, demonstrating adaptability and a deepening bond with Bakugan.
In *Geogan Rising*, Lightning transitions to a new guardian, the Darkus Ferascal, following Howlkor's temporary absence.
