Amos Crawley

Description
Amos Crawley is a Canadian actor who has built a career in both voice acting and live-action performance, with his work spanning several decades from the late 1980s to the present. Born in Toronto, Ontario, on March 2, 1981, he began acting at the age of four and attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts in his hometown. He later graduated from the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre in New York City. While he has appeared in numerous live-action films and television series, he is primarily known for his extensive voice work in animation, much of which was produced in Toronto.

Crawley's early career as a voice actor is marked by prominent roles in children's animated series during the 1990s and early 2000s. He is perhaps best recognized for being the first voice of Arnold Perlstein on the beloved educational series The Magic School Bus. He originated the role in the show's first season but was replaced in subsequent seasons due to his voice changing during puberty. His other significant voice roles from this era included Alexander on the series Babar, Owl on Little Bear, and voicing the characters Elmtail and a young Martin the Warrior in the Redwall animated adaptations. He was also part of the voice cast for other popular Nelvana-produced shows like Franklin and Elliot Moose.

In the late 2010s and 2020s, Crawley became a familiar presence in the Bakugan anime franchise, which is a Canadian-American-Japanese co-production. He has voiced multiple characters across several seasons of the series. In Bakugan Battle Planet, he provided the voices for both Aay and Cyndeous. He continued these roles and expanded them in the sequel series Bakugan: Armored Alliance, where he voiced Aay, his younger brother Trey, and several additional background characters. His involvement in the franchise extended further with voice roles in Bakugan: Geogan Rising, Bakugan: Evolutions, and Bakugan: Legends. Beyond Bakugan, his work in anime dubbing includes roles in the Beyblade franchise, such as Johannes in Beyblade: Metal Fury and Kite in Beyblade: Shogun Steel.

In addition to his voice acting, Amos Crawley has maintained a consistent career in live-action television and film, with appearances in shows like Goosebumps, Ready or Not, and Traders, as well as the feature films Billy Madison and The Virgin Suicides. He has also been active in theatre, performing in New York City and across Canada. His career reflects a pattern of recurring collaboration with Canadian animation studios, particularly Nelvana, and a versatility that has allowed him to move between child and adult roles in both animated and live-action mediums over more than thirty years.
