Helena Montez is a Portuguese actress and voice actor, known for her extensive work in dubbing foreign-language films and television series into European Portuguese. Born in Lisbon on February 7, 1985, she is the daughter of Portuguese actors António Montez and Ermelinda Duarte. Her career in performance began on stage, with early work in productions by the renowned Portuguese theater company La Feria, such as Jasmim ou o Sonho do Cinema. Her theater experience also includes performances at the Teatro Trindade, Comuna, and Tivoli.

Montez's voice acting career is vast, encompassing a wide array of characters in animation and live-action. She is particularly well-known within the anime community for her long-standing association with the Pokémon franchise. She was the first Portuguese voice of the character Misty, a role she originated in the early seasons of the anime and reprised for several years. Her portrayal of Misty extends to the first four Pokémon films, including Pokémon: The First Movie and Pokémon 2000. She returned to the role years later for the 22nd film in the series, Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, providing the European Portuguese voice for Misty in this 2019 CGI remake. In addition to Misty, her other voices in the Pokémon universe have included Nurse Joy and Delia Ketchum.

Beyond Pokémon, Montez has contributed her voice to numerous other anime series. She had multiple roles in the Portuguese dubs of Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X), voicing characters such as Misao Makimachi, Yahiko Myōjin, and Megumi Takane. Her work also includes roles in Tenchi Muyo! as Ayeka and Kiyone, and in the Digimon franchise, where she voiced Kari Kamiya, Cody Hida, Veemon, Palmon, and Gomamon in Digimon: The Movie, and later Nene Amano in Digimon Fusion.

Her dubbing portfolio is not limited to anime. Montez is a prolific voice in European Portuguese dubs of major animated and live-action productions from studios like Disney, DreamWorks, and Universal. She has been the primary Portuguese voice for Barbie in many of her direct-to-video films. Her other notable animated roles include Colette in Ratatouille, Daisy in Barnyard (Balbúrdia na Quinta), Rapunzel in Shrek the Third, and providing the singing voice for Mother Gothel in Tangled (Entrelaçados). In recent years, her work has continued with roles in films like Encanto, where she sang as Abuela Alma, and Wish: O Poder dos Desejos as Sakina, as well as series such as Miraculous: As Aventuras de Ladybug, voicing Tikki and Nathalie. Her work also extends to video games, such as providing the voice of Aphelion in the European Portuguese version of Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time.
