Nene Amano is a protagonist of Digimon Fusion. She is a mysterious girl who resides in the Digital World and initially serves as the general of the Twilight Army, also referred to as the Midnight Army. Her original goal is to search for powerful soldiers, and she uses Monitamon to spy on other generals and gather intelligence. She keeps close tabs on both Kiriha Aonuma and Taiki Kudou, and she often provides Taiki with information about the Code Crowns, Zones, and the functions of his Xros Loader, effectively acting as a guide for his team.

Nene is driven by a strong personal motivation: she is determined to save her younger brother, Yuu Amano, who became trapped in the Digital World. This desire leads her to initially cooperate with Skull Knightmon and Dark Knightmon, but she later discovers she was being manipulated. After her brother’s rescue, she joins the Xros Heart team and becomes a full ally in the fight against the Bagra Army. Her personality shifts from an enigmatic, watchful figure to a more open and compassionate member of the group. Despite her reserved exterior, she is extremely capable in battle, commanding Digimon with high firepower such as Sparrowmon, who can transform into a motorcycle, and later Mervamon. She does not openly flaunt her strength but demonstrates it decisively when needed.

Throughout the series, Nene develops key relationships with Taiki and Kiriha, often acting as a bridge between them. Her bond with her brother Yuu is central to her character arc, and she shows unwavering loyalty to her allies. After the main conflict, she moves to Hong Kong and becomes a successful idol, appearing in the sequel series Digimon Fusion: The Young Hunters Leaping Through Time. Her notable abilities include advanced information gathering, strategic reconnaissance, and the use of a Xros Loader to command and fuse her Digimon partners. She is also a capable fighter in her own right, able to hold her own in dangerous situations.
