Val Tasso is an American actor and voice actor known for his work in film, television, and video games. He began his professional acting career in 2000 after booking his first commercial for the Ford Motor Company in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. Following this initial success, he secured more commercial work and a character role in an independent film in Toledo, Ohio, before relocating to Hollywood to further pursue acting. His on-screen work includes a recurring role on the daytime soap opera General Hospital and appearances in television series such as Charmed and Without a Trace. His acting debut was in the 2001 independent feature film In the Company of Strangers, where he played the villainous role of Mike Kellerman.

Tasso is most recognized for his contribution to the Resident Evil franchise, specifically the 2012 computer-animated film Resident Evil: Damnation. He was initially cast in the project after auditioning for the motion capture role of a rebel soldier named JD. He was flown to Tokyo to perform the motion capture for the character, during which he developed a unique voice for him. When the time came to audition for the English voice-over role for the same character, he was ultimately cast, marking his first involvement in a major studio film. His performance as JD, a character described for his initial ambiguity and fascination with American culture, remains his most iconic and widely recognized role.

Beyond his work on screen, Tasso has focused his career on voice acting for video games and animation projects. He has also expanded his creative involvement in the film industry to include production and direction.
