Eli James is an American actor, voice artist, stand-up comedian, singer, and dialect specialist based in London. He is widely recognized for his extensive voice work in English adaptations of popular anime series, particularly for his lead role in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise and his numerous contributions to the Pokémon animated series.

James's career in anime dubbing is marked by several high-profile and recurring roles. He is perhaps best known for voicing the energetic protagonist Yuma Tsukumo in the series Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, a role that spanned the show's run from 2011 to 2014. Prior to this, he also provided voices for the characters Breo and Halldor in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.

His work within the Pokémon franchise is particularly prolific, encompassing multiple series, specials, and characters. James voiced the role of Pansage, the Grass-type Pokémon belonging to the character Cilan, throughout the Pokémon Best Wishes! series. This role extended into related animated shorts, such as the 2012 Pikachu short Meloetta's Moonlight Serenade. He also took on the role of Siebold, a member of the Kalos region's Elite Four, in the 2014-2015 television specials Pokémon: Mega Evolution Special I. His other notable roles in the Pokémon anime include the character Volkner in Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, and various other characters such as Amoonguss, Foongus, and Colress across different series. In addition to his work in anime, James has lent his voice to video games, including titles such as Dungeon Hunter 4 and 5 and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Following his relocation to London, many of his previous anime roles were recast; for instance, Noah Benjamin took over as Yuma Tsukumo, Griffin Puatu assumed the role of Volkner, and Billy Bob Thompson began voicing Cilan's Pansage.
