Haruka Chisuga

Description
Haruka Chisuga is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on January 23, 1992, in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. Her path to the entertainment industry began with a strong foundation in music, as she took classical piano lessons from early childhood. During high school, her career aspirations were crystallized after she watched a live performance video of singer and voice actress Nana Mizuki, which inspired her to pursue a similar path.

Chisuga's career was launched in 2012 when she won the prestigious Miss Macross 30 contest, a competition held to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Macross franchise. She was selected as the Singer Wing winner from over 3,000 applicants. This victory led to her professional debut in 2013, where she both voiced the character Mina Forte and performed the theme song for the video game Macross 30: Voices across the Galaxy, marking her simultaneous entry into both voice acting and singing. As a singer, she is signed to the FlyingDog label.

Her first major role in a television anime series came in 2014 when she was cast as Tsugumi Harudori in Soul Eater Not!. That same year, she landed a pivotal role as Shizuka Sakaki in the critically acclaimed anime Shirobako, a part that became one of her most recognized performances and helped establish her career. Her portrayal of Sakaki, an aspiring voice actress, resonated strongly with audiences and connected her to the very industry she was joining.

Since her debut, Chisuga has built a diverse filmography across various anime series, films, and video games. In the long-running fantasy series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (DanMachi), she voices the character Sanjono Haruhime, a role she has reprised across multiple seasons including the third and fourth installments. She took on a leading role as Rachel Gardner in the dark thriller Angels of Death in 2018. Her other notable anime credits include Ruka Hanari in Blue Reflection Ray, Pepechan in Eternal Boys, Kokone Kikogami in Aquarion Logos, Haroma Bekker in Alderamin on the Sky, Sayuki Kuroda in Girls Beyond the Wasteland, Sylvia Lyyneheym in The Asterisk War, Mana in Zetsumetsu Kigu Shōjo Amazing Twins, Goō Yoshimitsu in Tenka Hyakken, and Tsuneko in the anime film Human Lost. She also appeared in the series Gakkō dewa Oshiete Kurenai Taisetsu na Koto, a title associated with Amazing Twins.

In addition to her anime work, Chisuga is well-known in the gaming community for her role as Ryo Matsunaga in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls franchise. This role has allowed her to showcase her singing talent in a different context and connect with fans through live performances. Her voice acting is noted for its range; while she initially became known for high-toned, girlish characters, she has demonstrated versatility with more subdued and calm roles, such as Rachel Gardner in Angels of Death.

As a recording artist, Chisuga has released several singles and an album. Her debut single, Planet Cradle/Wonder Ring, was released in 2013. She followed this with other singles like Zetsumetsuki gu Shōjo!, Momoiro Fantasy, and Ai no Uta -words of love-, many of which have charted on the Oricon charts. Her first album, TRY!, was released in 2016.

Over the course of her career, Chisuga has been affiliated with different talent agencies, including Dandelion and later Fortunerest. Her work continues to span a wide range of roles in both animation and video games, demonstrating her sustained presence in the Japanese voice acting and music industries.
