Jeong-Min Sim

Description
Jeong-Min Sim, known in the industry as Shim Jung-min, was a South Korean voice actor active from 2008 to 2019. He joined the first Daewon Broadcasting Voice Actor Association in November 2008, debuting at the age of 33 after studying vocal music at the Korea National University of Arts. Following an initial period as an exclusive member, he worked as a freelancer from November 2010 until his retirement from the voice acting profession in 2019.

His vocal performances were characterized by a deep, serious, and low tone, which lent itself to a range of character types. While his voice was well-suited for mature, authoritative, and even villainous roles, he also demonstrated considerable range in comedic parts and was noted for his skill in playing okama characters. In the anime series Yes! Precure 5 GoGo!, he voiced the villainous characters Buttock and Pass It Over, roles that fit his capacity for antagonistic parts. His work also included the role of Muscle Ōkama in the series Psychic Squad.

Beyond animation, Sim's voice was heard in various other media. He provided the Korean voice for the Drive Driver in the special effects series Kamen Rider Drive. He was also active in video game voice work, with credits including roles in popular titles such as World of Warcraft, where his last recorded performance was for Lightforged draenei male characters in the Battle for Azeroth expansion, as well as Blade & Soul and Dungeon Striker. Following his retirement from voice acting, Sim pursued a career as a fitness trainer, achieving success in fitness competitions by winning first to third place in a December 2020 event.
