Cristina Cavalinhos

Description
Cristina Maria de Melo Cavalinhos is a Portuguese actress and voice actor, born in Setúbal on October 21, 1965. She pursued formal training in the performing arts, completing a higher education course in Theatre at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema and attending two years of singing at the Conservatório de Música. Her career spans live-action performance in theatre, television, and film, but she is widely recognized for her extensive voice work in European Portuguese dubs of anime and animated series.

Cavalinhos has been a prominent and consistent voice in the Portuguese anime community for decades, particularly known for her long-standing association with the Dragon Ball franchise. She has voiced the character Bulma across numerous productions, from the original Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z series to more recent films like Dragon Ball Super: Broly (2019) and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (2022). In Super Hero, she also took on the roles of Android 18 and Videl. Her Dragon Ball repertoire extends to other characters such as Lunch, Chi-Chi, Pan, and the villain Zangya.

She holds an equally significant place in the Portuguese version of the Sailor Moon universe. Cavalinhos was part of the original 1990s dub of Sailor Moon, where she voiced multiple characters, including Rei Hino / Sailor Mars, Setsuna Meioh / Sailor Pluto, and the cat Artemis. Notably, she was one of the few voice actors to reprise her roles for the later, more faithful dub of Sailor Moon Crystal and the film Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal, once again voicing Sailor Mars, Sailor Pluto, and this time also providing the voice for the cat Luna.

Her voice work is also prominent in the Bakugan franchise. In Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge, she voiced numerous characters, including Chris, Fabia Sheen, Jack Punt, Mira Fermin, Paige, and Runo Misaki. Her involvement with the series began earlier, with roles in Bakugan: Battle Brawlers as Alice Gehabich and Skyress.

Beyond these major franchises, Cavalinhos's career includes a wide variety of other roles. She is known for voicing Shego and Monique in Kim Possible, Dee Dee in Dexter's Laboratory, and Azura in the Barbie Fairytopia films. Her filmography also includes voices in Fairy Tail, Winx Club, and The Owl House. One of her notable achievements is her ability to consistently reprise her iconic roles in both the Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon franchises over many years, a testament to her enduring presence and vocal versatility in the industry.
