Claudio Serrano

Description
Claudio Serrano Martín is a highly accomplished Spanish actor and director of dubbing, born in Parla, Madrid, on April 15, 1970. His career in voice acting began at a young age; at just twelve, he entered a dubbing studio to voice a child character for a film, a connection made through his school theater director. This early start led to his first leading role in 1986, dubbing the character Scott Hayden in the series Starman. From there, he built a prolific career spanning television, film, video games, and advertising.

Serrano's body of work in anime and animation for the Spanish market is extensive and features several prominent roles. He is notably recognized for his work in the various adaptations of the classic series Touch. He provided the Spanish voice for the main character, Tatsuya Uesugi, in the 1985 television series, as well as in the specials Touch: Are kara, Kimi wa... - Miss Lonely Yesterday - and Touch: Cross Road - Kaze no Yukue. His involvement with the franchise also extended to its films, where he voiced both Tatsuya and his twin brother Kazuya in Touch: Sebangou no Nai Ace, Touch 2: Sayonara no Okurimono, and Touch 3: Don't Pass Me By.

Beyond the world of Touch, Serrano's anime dubbing credits are diverse. He voiced Dan Kean in the series Little Women II Jo's Boys, Oscar in Tongari Bōshi no Memoru, and Ignacio in the classic sports anime Attack No. 1. Other notable roles include Buddy Fox in Kickers and the character Neo in the animated short Kid's Story from The Animatrix. In the horror-fantasy realm, he lent his voice to Francesco Portinari in Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic. More recently, he voiced Bruce Wayne and his superhero alter-ego Batman in the 2018 anime-inspired film Batman Ninja, a role he has reprised in other animated features like Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

While Serrano's anime roles form a significant part of his career, he is perhaps even more widely known in Spain as the regular dubbing voice for a host of major international actors. This includes Christian Bale, whom he has voiced as Batman in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, as well as Ben Affleck in his portrayal of the same character. He is also the Spanish voice for Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd in Grey's Anatomy), Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester in Supernatural), Paul Rudd, and Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead). His work in video games is equally notable, with acclaimed performances as Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad in the Assassin's Creed series, Tommy in The Last of Us, and Deacon St. John in Days Gone.

Throughout his career, Claudio Serrano has also worked as a dubbing director, first taking on that role for the 1996 film In Cold Blood. He is a proponent of quality in his profession and has spoken about the importance of training and the challenges posed by new technologies and industry pressures. With a career spanning over four decades, he is considered one of the most talented and respected voices in the Spanish dubbing industry, admired for his versatility, dedication, and ability to bring a vast array of characters to life for Spanish-speaking audiences.
