Chiyoko Kawashima is a retired Japanese voice actress born on June 2, 1954, in Tokyo. She began her career in 1974 and was active in the anime industry for 27 years before retiring in 2001. Her final role before retirement was the mother of the protagonist in the television anime series Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne.

Kawashima made her debut as a voice actor in 1975, with her first major role being Hikaru Makiba in the series UFO Robo Grendizer. Throughout her career, she was affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production. She was a graduate of the Television Actor Training Center, where her peers included fellow voice actors Kazuhiko Inoue and Daisuke Gōri.

Kawashima is perhaps best known for her roles in the widely popular Sailor Moon franchise, which brought her significant recognition. She voiced several characters in the series, most notably the role of Sailor Pluto, also known as Setsuna Meiou. In addition to this signature role, she provided the voices for other characters in the same universe, such as Haruna Sakurada, a teacher at the main characters' school, and Shingo Tsukino, the younger brother of the protagonist, Usagi Tsukino.

Her career was marked by a wide range of roles across numerous anime series from the 1970s through the 1990s. In the 1970s, she appeared in series such as Muteki Chōjin Zambot 3, playing the role of Aki, and in Space Pirate Captain Harlock, where she voiced the characters Kei Yuki and Mayu Ooyama. She continued to work prolifically throughout the 1980s, taking on parts in diverse shows like Stop! Hibari-kun as Hiromi Iwasaki, Kōsoku Denjin Albegas as Midori Enjouji and Saiko Asabuki, and Tongari Bōshi no Memoru as Popit. Her filmography from this decade also includes work on Andromeda Stories as the young Jimsa and Manga Aesop Monogatari as Chi.

In the 1990s, alongside her work on Sailor Moon, she continued to secure roles in other popular series. These included parts in Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl as Fujiko Itō, and in the OVA (Original Video Animation) adaptation of Please Save My Earth. Her work was not limited to television; she also contributed her voice to animated films, such as the Sailor Moon S movie and the film Adieu Galaxy Express 999.
