Shinobu Satouchi
Description
Shinobu Satouchi is a Japanese voice actor affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production. He was born on February 11, 1958, in Kyoto Prefecture. A graduate of the Faculty of Engineering at Tokai University, he is also a qualified first-class architect and runs his own architectural firm, Satouchi Architecture Office. He is a graduate of the Osaka branch of Aoni Juku, the training school for voice actors affiliated with his agency, being a member of its third graduating class.
Satouchi began his voice acting career in the late 1980s. One of his earliest roles was in the 1988 television anime series Kiteretsu Daihyakka. In 1989, he voiced the character Rairyu in the anime Transformers: Victory. Throughout the 1990s, he was active in numerous major anime series, frequently providing voices for supporting characters and ensemble casts. Notable roles from this period include multiple characters in the basketball series Slam Dunk, such as Yoshinori Miyamasu, Satoru Kakuta, and Hiroaki Koshino. He also voiced the character Giru in Dragon Ball GT and appeared in the long-running franchise with various roles in Dragon Ball Z and its later iteration, Dragon Ball Kai.
His film work includes roles in several theatrical features, such as the 2003 film Detective Conan: Crossroad in the Ancient Capital, where he voiced the character Shichirou Washinoono. In the realm of original video animations, he voiced the character Furuta in the 1998 OVA series Getter Robo: Armageddon. His career also extends to other long-running anime, with roles such as the chef Carne in One Piece and a variety of characters in the Toei Animation adaptation of GeGeGe no Kitaro.
Beyond animation, Satouchi is well-known for his work in video games.
