Amy Birnbaum

Description
Amy Birnbaum is an American voice actress best known for her work in English-language dubs of anime series produced by 4Kids Entertainment during the late 1990s and 2000s. Born on April 14, 1975, she is a graduate of Tufts University, where she was also a member of an a cappella group.

Her career is closely associated with several high-profile anime franchises. She is prominently known for voicing the young trainer Max in the Pokémon anime series and its films, including Pokémon: Jirachi Wish Maker, a role she played for over a hundred episodes from the early 2000s. She also provided the voice for the titular character, Kirby, in the anime series Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, a distinction that makes her the only American actress to have voiced the character in that series. Another significant early role was voicing Umi Ryuuzaki in the English dub of the Magic Knight Rayearth OVA.

Beyond these roles, Birnbaum's filmography is extensive. She is perhaps equally well-known for her work as Téa Gardner in the long-running Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters series and its associated films and video games, a role she reprised as recently as 2016 for Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions. Her work with 4Kids also included voicing Charmy Bee and Cosmo in Sonic X, and roles in series such as One Piece, G.I. Joe: Sigma 6, and F-Zero: GP Legend. In addition to her voice work, she has also worked behind the scenes in children's media, holding positions such as Senior Producer and Brand Marketing Director at companies like Cartoon Network and Sesame Workshop.
