Anne Jolivet

Description
Anne Jolivet is a French actress and voice artist, born on June 11, 1947, in Metz, France. She trained in drama at the Cours Simon in Paris. Her career in performance began in the late 1960s, with her first professional experiences including dubbing work for the films Duffy, le renard de Tanger and Easy Rider. Shortly after, she took on the lead role in the 1970 television serial Noële aux quatre vents. For approximately the next ten years, Jolivet focused primarily on on-screen roles in film and television, appearing in productions such as La Punition and the series L'Aéropostale, courrier du ciel.

At the start of the 1980s, Jolivet returned to dubbing and became a prominent figure in French voice-over. She is particularly well-known for becoming the regular French voice of actresses Kathleen Turner and Demi Moore. Her dubbing work, however, extends far beyond these actresses to include a wide array of films and television series.

In the realm of animation and anime, Jolivet has lent her voice to numerous characters. Besides the role of Eliza in Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie and the role of Mère in the series Konpora Kid, her animation voice work is extensive. She voiced Miss Kitty in Fievel au Far West and was the voice of the Stepmother in the direct-to-video sequels Cendrillon 2: Une vie de princesse and Le Sortilège de Cendrillon. She also voiced Rachel Lambert in the French adaptation of Nicky Larson, as well as characters in Patlabor: The Movie, Galaxy Express, and Madame de Fleurville in the animated series Les Malheurs de Sophie. Her credits also include dubbing for series like G.I. Joe and Spiral Zone.

From the late 1990s, Jolivet gradually reduced her dubbing activities to concentrate on writing for the theatre. She authored several plays, including Sammy Doc et Fifi, which was performed in Paris and Switzerland, and later translated for performances in Spain. She also wrote radio plays. In 2001, her work as a writer was recognized with the Nouveau talent auteur prize from the Société des auteurs et compositeurs dramatiques. In addition to her acting and writing, Jolivet also recorded several records as a singer during the 1970s.
