Megumi Kubota

Description
Megumi Kubota is a Japanese female voice actress affiliated with the talent agency Production Baobab. She was born on August 13 in Tokyo, with specific sources indicating her birthplace as the Katsushika ward of the city. She began her career in 1997 after graduating as a ninth-term student from the Baobab Academy, the training school associated with her agency. Her debut role was a boy in a promotional video for DiaBlock toys, and her first named role came as Bobby in the 21st episode of the television drama Picket Fences.

Kubota is known for her husky vocal quality, which leads her to be cast in male roles more often than female ones. In anime, one of her early and notable roles was Raid in the 2000 television anime series Doki Doki Densetsu Mahōjin Guru Guru. She also voiced Viktor in the 2006 series 009-1.

A significant part of her career is marked by a long-standing collaboration with the game and animation company Level-5. Her most prominent role in this regard is Ban Yamano, the protagonist of the Danbōru Senki (Cardboard Warrier) franchise, which began with the 2011 television anime and continued across multiple sequels, films, and video games. Her association with Level-5 also includes roles in the Inazuma Eleven and Professor Layton series.

Beyond animation, Kubota has an extensive body of work in dubbing foreign films and television series. Notable dubbing roles include providing the Japanese voice for Justin Stewart, the Blue Turbo Ranger, in the Power Rangers franchise and for Greg Heffley in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid film series. Her broad talent has also extended to narration work.
