Naomi Jinbo

Description
Naomi Jinbo is a former Japanese voice actor, born on February 11, 1953, who was active in the anime industry from the late 1970s until her retirement at the end of the 1980s. She was affiliated with the talent management firm Production MThree during her career. Jinbo is primarily recognized for her work in several popular anime series of that era, contributing voices to a range of characters in both television and film.

Jinbo's career included a significant number of roles in productions based on the works of Akira Toriyama. She is perhaps best known for providing the voices of both Aoi Kimidori and Piisuke Soramame in the original 1981 Dr. Slump & Arale-chan television series. She reprised the role of Piisuke in a series of Dr. Slump animated films, including Dr. Slump: Hoyoyo! Space Adventure (1982), Dr. Slump & Arale-chan: Hoyoyo! The Great Race Around the World (1983), and Dr. Slump and Arale-chan: Hoyoyo! City of Dreams, Mechapolis (1985). She also voiced these characters in a crossover appearance in a 1987 episode of the original Dragon Ball anime.

Beyond her work on Dr. Slump, Jinbo took on a variety of other roles. She voiced the character Daisuke in the 1983 educational adventure series Miimu Iro Iro Yume no Tabi. Her other notable performances include Santiago Santi Costa in the 1979 series Kujira no Josephina and Roza Afrodia in the 1980 science fiction series Space Warrior Baldios. In the magical girl genre, she played Mamoru Hidaka in Magical Angel Creamy Mami and had a role in Magical Princess Minky Momo. Her filmography also includes minor roles in series such as Giant Gorg and Space Adventure Cobra.

One notable event during Jinbo's career occurred in May 1984 when she fell ill and was temporarily replaced by other voice actors on several series. This included Seiko Nakano taking over the role of Piisuke Soramame for two episodes of Dr. Slump, and Reiko Suzuki voicing Mamoru Hidaka in three episodes of Magical Angel Creamy Mami. Following her retirement from the voice acting industry in the late 1980s, her role of Piisuke Soramame was subsequently taken over by Tomiko Suzuki and later by Megumi Urawa for the 1997 Dr. Slump remake series.
