Serge Lhorca

Serge Lhorca was a French actor primarily known for his extensive work in dubbing for film and television, including a significant number of anime series. Born on September 8, 1918, in Vergt, Dordogne, France, he began his dubbing career after the Second World War. He passed away on January 13, 2012, at the age of 93.
Lhorca's voice became familiar to French audiences through his regular dubbing of major Hollywood stars such as Jack Lemmon, Gene Wilder, and Roy Scheider. He also provided the French voice for iconic characters like Yoda in the original Star Wars trilogy and Argus Filch in the first two Harry Potter films. In animation, he was one of the first French voices of Speedy Gonzales and voiced numerous Smurfs in the series of the same name.
His contribution to anime dubbing was extensive, particularly during the 1980s. He voiced the black panther Bagheera in the series Jungle Book: Shōnen Mowgli. He also played the roles of Anselm le magicien in Adventures of the Little Mermaid and Oncle Georges in New Maple Town Stories. Among his other notable anime roles were the title character in Sherlock Hound, Professor Simon Wright in Captain Future, and Inspector Gaston Lacogne (the French name for Koichi Zenigata) in Lupin III: Part II. He also had a prominent role in the French dub of the American series The Transformers, where he was the most regular voice actor for the character Galvatron during its third and fourth seasons.
