He was the son of actors Robert Etcheverry and Michèle Viterbo. Initially hesitant to pursue acting due to his father's fame, he eventually took theater courses and began his stage career. His entry into dubbing came through fellow actor William Coryn, which led to formal training and a swift start in the profession.

Etcheverry became a highly active voice in French-dubbed anime, lending his talents to a wide array of series and films. Among his most recognized anime roles were those in the series specifically mentioned by the user. He voiced the character Valentin, also known as Déjà vu, in the series Gu-Gu Ganmo. In High School! Kimengumi, he took on the roles of both Ted and Roméo.

His extensive anime filmography includes several other notable parts. His repertoire also included roles in Monster as both Roberto and Inspector Mäsner, Gimsy in Future Boy Conan, Lantis in Rayearth, and numerous guest voices in Nicky Larson (City Hunter). He also contributed voices to the French adaptations of franchises like Dragon Ball, where he was a replacement voice for Yamcha, and Transformers, where he voiced a multitude of characters including Blaster, Cyclonus, and Galvatron in the series The Transformers.

Beyond anime, Etcheverry had a prolific career dubbing live-action films and series. He was particularly renowned for being the first regular French voice of the killer doll Chucky in the first three Child's Play films. Another iconic performance was his portrayal of Edgar the farmer (voiced by Vincent D'Onofrio) in Men in Black, for which he created a distinctive vocal interpretation without the synthetic effects used in the original version. He dubbed numerous actors, including Esai Morales in series like New York Police Blues and Jericho, and Philip Seymour Hoffman in Twister. His voice can also be heard in major films such as Saving Private Ryan, Scream 2, and Alien Resurrection.

In addition to his on-screen dubbing, Etcheverry worked as a dubbing director, overseeing the French adaptation for the Rayearth OVA. He also continued his passion for theater, performing in plays, including Victimes du devoir in 2006.
