David Lapkin

David Lapkin is an American voice actor born in 1971 in West Hartford, Connecticut, who was active in anime dubbing during the 2000s and early 2010s. He began working at 4Kids Productions in 2002, a studio known for its English-language adaptations of Japanese anime series, and continued there until approximately 2012.

Lapkin is perhaps best recognized for his work in the Kirby franchise, providing the English voice for Sir Ebrum, the nervous but well-meaning cabinet minister of Cappy Town and father of Tiff and Tuff in the anime series Kirby: Right Back At Ya!. His contribution to the series extended beyond this central role to include other characters such as Dr. Yabui, Mr. Chip, and Dis Walney. Within the Kirby series, he also voiced the character Mr. Chip.

Beyond Kirby, Lapkin built an extensive resume of voice work across many popular anime series adapted by 4Kids. He had multiple roles in the Pokémon anime, including appearances in Pokémon Advance as characters like Dee Dunstan, Marcel, and Professor Proctor, and in Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl as Lucian, the Magikarp Salesman, Mr. Cheeves, the Pokétch Company President, and several assistant characters. He was also part of the English casts for several other major series, voicing Mr. 4 and Mr. 7 in the 4Kids adaptation of One Piece, John Tanaka in F-Zero GP Legend, President’s Assistant Jerome Wise in Sonic X, and Don Piero and D-Wheeler A in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s. His other notable roles include Sanzo Hoshi in Dinosaur King, Gespedan in Chaotic, and Lord Simultaneous in the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. He also provided the voice for Monty Mousemallow in Viva Piñata and contributed additional voices to video games such as One Piece: Pirates Carnival. For some of his work in the Pokémon series, he was credited under the alternate name Clyde Hunter.
