Christian Fassetta

Description
Christian Fassetta is an Italian former voice actor and actor, primarily known for his extensive work dubbing anime series during the 1980s. He was born in Milan on August 31, 1967. Fassetta began his career in entertainment at a very young age, starting with modeling and commercials as an infant before moving into acting. He is the younger brother of former voice actress Susanna Fassetta.

Fassetta's career in voice acting saw him become a prominent figure in Italian dubbing during the golden age of anime on Italian television. He provided the Italian voices for numerous protagonists and key characters in popular series. One of his earliest notable roles was as Enrico Bottini, the main character in the anime adaptation of the classic Italian novel Cuore. He also voiced Huckleberry Finn in the 1980 anime series The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Tom Story), a role he worked on alongside Massimiliano Manfredi, who voiced Tom Sawyer.

Fassetta was part of the cast for several other iconic series of the era. In the immensely popular soccer anime Captain Tsubasa, known in Italy as Holly e Benji, he voiced the character Julian Ross (Jun Misugi). He also took over the role of the titular young Viking, Vickie, as the second voice in the Italian version of Vicke the Little Viking (Vicky il vichingo). His other significant anime voice roles included Ikkyu in Ikkyū-san, Ryo in Tansor 5, and multiple characters in the series Lamù the Girl from Space, where he was the second voice for Mendo and the third voice for both Chibi and Perma.

His work in dubbing often saw him collaborating with other young actors of the time, creating a convivial atmosphere in the recording studio. He specifically recalled fond memories of working on Holly e Benji with a group of peers and playing soccer in the hallways with Massimiliano Manfredi during breaks from recording Tom Story. He also occasionally worked alongside his sister, Susanna Fassetta, who was also a voice actress.

In addition to voice acting, Fassetta pursued a career as a live-action actor in film, television, and theater throughout the 1980s. His credits included roles in productions such as the TV series La stagione delle piogge (1984) and the film Una storia importante (1987). He also appeared on stage, including a performance in the G.B. Show with Gino Bramieri in 1983.

Fassetta eventually left the entertainment industry and relocated to the United States to study finance. He has earned multiple degrees and has built a subsequent career as a financial planner, tax consultant, and business advisor in New York. In more recent years, he has also served as a director on the board of Sutton United Football Club in London. He has occasionally returned to film as a producer on independent projects such as White Sky (2021).
