Ayumi Murata is a Japanese voice actress, singer, and former idol born on January 12, 1982, in Tokyo, Japan. She entered the entertainment industry at the age of 15, an opportunity that arose while she was helping at her father's surf shop. Her career is noted for encompassing voice acting in anime and video games, as well as a significant discography of theme songs for the projects in which she was involved.

Murata's voice acting career includes a range of roles in both anime series and video games. In anime, she is recognized for her role as Kaori Himekawa in the series Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho and as Hinako Mochida in Myself; Yourself. She also voiced Kanata Kurosu in the Memories Off 3.5 original video animation. Her work in the Memories Off series of visual novels was extensive; she provided the voice for the character Kanata Kurosu in several games, including Memories Off: Sorekara and its sequel Memories Off: Sorekara again. Other notable voice roles in video games include Rinrin in Blue Flow and柴崎優 (Yuu Shibasaki) in Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru.

Beyond acting, Ayumi Murata contributed significantly as a singer, frequently performing theme songs for the anime and games she was a part of.
