John Rafter Lee is an English actor, voice artist, and narrator recognized for his extensive work in anime dubbing, animation, and audiobook narration. He is known for a distinctive, rich voice that often lends itself to authoritative or enigmatic characters. His career in voice acting for anime and Western animation spans several decades, beginning in the mid-1990s.

One of his earliest and most prominent roles was providing the voice of the dictatorial ruler Trevor Goodchild in the iconic MTV animated series Æon Flux. He subsequently voiced the villainous Jason Wynn in the HBO series Spawn from 1997 to 1999. In the realm of anime, Lee is well-regarded for his performance as the noble vampire Meier Link in the film Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. His other anime credits include multiple voices in the series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, such as Pavlo Zaitsev and Kusunoki, and the character Renya Yagyu in Ninja Scroll: The Series. He also voiced Morgan in the Trigun series and contributed additional voices to the English dub of the Studio Ghibli film Princess Mononoke.

Lee has been involved in projects related to the historical figure Aristotle. He voiced the character in the 1997 anime series Reign: The Conqueror, an adaptation of the life of Alexander the Great, and also in the 2000 anime film Alexander: The Movie. Beyond his voice work in animation, he has had a prolific career as an audiobook narrator, winning numerous Audie Awards and being named a Golden Voice by AudioFile magazine in 2009. He has also performed as a voice actor in video games, notably as Dr. Cidolfus Demen Bunansa in Final Fantasy XII. In addition to his performance work, Lee is a playwright and has written, produced, and starred in the independent film Breathing Hard.
