Tamaki Nakanishi was a Japanese voice actress and singer from Okinawa Prefecture, born on February 13, 1976. She was affiliated with the talent management agency 81 Produce throughout her career. Nakanishi began her voice acting career in the year 2000, taking on minor roles in series such as Gravitation and Hamtaro. Her career quickly gained momentum, and she became known for a variety of prominent character roles in the early 2000s.
Nakanishi's notable early work included starring as Shin in the 2001 series Prétear, and as Itsuki Akiba in the 2002 anime I"s. She also voiced Tomoe Tobise in the visual novel Memories Off 2nd in 2001, a role she would reprise in its 2003 anime adaptation and subsequent related video games. Another significant role from this period was Nagatsuki Kuron in Happy Lesson Advanced.
She is perhaps best known for her long-standing association with the Fafner franchise. Nakanishi provided the voice for the character Tsubaki Minashiro in the 2004 television series Fafner in the Azure. She returned to this role years later for the 2010 film Fafner in the Azure: Heaven and Earth. In the 2015 sequel series, Fafner EXODUS, she continued her work within the franchise by voicing both Tsubaki Minashiro and the new character Orihime Minashiro. This recurring role in a major mecha anime franchise stands as a key part of her professional legacy.
