Sedlmeir grew up in Ammerland on Lake Starnberg. Before pursuing acting, he completed an apprenticeship as a brewer. He later studied acting at the University of the Arts Berlin from 2010 to 2014. Following his education, he performed at the Oldenburg State Theater until 2017 and then moved to the Schauspielhaus Bochum. He is also a founding member of the mobile theater group Rumpel Pumpel Theater. In addition to his performance work, he studied screenwriting at the University of Television and Film Munich.
