Description
Laura Merli is an Italian voice actress, known for her extensive work in dubbing foreign productions, including animation and live-action content, for Italian television and cinema. She began her career at a very young age, starting to dub at five years old, following in the footsteps of her mother, who was also an actress and voice artist. Her early work included lending her voice to numerous radio dramas and serving as a speaker for news services at RAI, Italy's national public broadcasting company. She later became the voice of Junior TV, a children's television channel, for six years during her time at Mediaset.
Merli's body of work in animation is extensive. Among her most recognized roles is Sally Brown, as well as Patty and Peppermint Patty, in various adaptations of the Charles Schulz comic strip Peanuts. She also voiced the character Pero in an adaptation of Puss in Boots and Toro Farcito in The Adventures of Toro Farcito. In the anime series Adventures of Little El Cid, she provided the Italian voice for the character Louis. Other notable anime roles include Okyo in Cyber City Oedo 808 and multiple characters in the anthology series Le più belle favole del mondo, including Dorothy and Cosetta. Her voice work also extends to the world of video games, where she voiced Coco Bandicoot in the Italian localization of Crash: Mind Over Mutant and the narrator in Saint Row.
