Shōgo Batori
Description
Shōgo Batori is a Japanese voice actor and narrator affiliated with the talent agency Accent. He was born in Tokyo on May 31, 1995, and is of Filipino-American and Japanese heritage. He is a graduate of the Nihon Kogei Senmon Gakko (Japan Institute of Design).
Batori's path to voice acting was inspired by the anime series Toradora!, which had a profound impact on him during his youth and motivated him to pursue a career in the animation industry. He entered the profession after participating in the 10th Seiyu Award Newcomer Discovery Audition in March 2016, where he was the most sought-after participant, receiving offers from a record 15 talent agencies before deciding to join Accent. His debut role came the same year as Kazuma Shouji in the anime series Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT, a character he would continue to voice in subsequent installments of the franchise, including Cardfight!! Vanguard G: Z and the web anime mini vanguard large.
Batori has built a versatile career spanning anime, video games, and foreign language dubbing. In anime, his film credits include the role of Mikaya in the 2018 film Aragne: Sign of Vermillion and a role in Nightmare Bugs. He has also appeared in series such as Paradox Live The Animation as Ryouga Tosa and in the long-running fantasy puppet series Thunderbolt Fantasy: Tōriken Yūki 4. Other notable anime roles include appearances in Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, Unnamed Memory, and the film Pretty Cure All Stars F.
A significant portion of Batori's work is in voice-over for foreign films and television series.
