Description
Yurina Furukawa is a Japanese voice actress from Kanagawa Prefecture, born on March 4th. She is affiliated with the agency Animo Produce as of October 2024. Her journey into performance began with ten years of classical ballet training during her youth, which fostered her interest in the arts. She decided to pursue acting seriously in her last year of high school and subsequently trained at the Tokyo Seiyu International Academy before joining the training school of the agency EARLY WING, which later became FIRST WIND production.
Furukawa made her voice acting debut in 2013 with a minor role in the television anime I Want to Be the Strongest in the World. Her first major breakthrough and most prominent role to date came in 2015 when she was cast as the energetic and eccentric橘·希尔芬福特 (Tachibana Sylphynford) in the popular series Himouto! Umaru-chan. She would reprise this character in the show's second season, Himouto! Umaru-chan R, as well as in original video animation releases and video game adaptations.
Throughout her career, Furukawa has built a diverse portfolio by voicing a wide range of supporting characters in numerous anime television series. Her credits from 2017 onwards include roles such as Marilla in Princess Principal and Bianca Carlyle in the Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt OVA. In 2018, she took on the role of a basketball club senior, credited as Basket Senpai, in the anime Anima Yell!. Other notable appearances from this period include roles in Love Is Like After the Rain, Kengan Ashura, and The Ones Within. Beyond anime, her work extends to video games such as Fairy Fencer F, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, and Death end re;Quest2, as well as other multimedia projects like Onsen Musume.
