Yayoi Sugaya is a Japanese voice actress and narrator affiliated with the Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society. She was born on November 15 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Her voice is characterized as a soprano. Beyond her voice work, she holds a license as a diagnostic radiology technician and possesses a black belt in karate, also being skilled in tate, the art of stage combat.

Sugaya began her professional training in 2002 at the Katsuta Voice Actor's Academy. She subsequently became a 27th-generation trainee at the Haikyo Voice Actor Workshop in 2005 and officially joined the Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society the following year. Her career in animation started in 2009 with minor roles in series such as Kimi ni Todoke and Anpanman.

Throughout the 2010s, Sugaya built a diverse portfolio of roles in major anime series. She is known for her work in the long-running franchise Aikatsu!, where she voiced multiple characters including Sumire Kiritani and Sanae Saegusa. In 2014, she portrayed Mao Sagara in the television series HappinessCharge PreCure! and its subsequent film. The same year, she was part of the cast for the Doraemon film, New Doraemon: Nobita in the Haunts of Evil - Peko and the Five Explorers.

Sugaya's role as Edward Grant in the 2014 anime series Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers stands as a prominent credit in her filmography. In this series, she voiced the character described as a shy and docile boy who becomes the partner of the Hulk. Her other animation credits include roles in Gintama, Detective Conan, and Brave Beats.

In the realm of video games, Sugaya provided the voice for the character Hana, known as Kazahana in Japanese, in the 2015 game Fire Emblem Fates. She has also voiced other characters in the Fire Emblem franchise, including Petrine and a reprise of Hana in the mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes. Her game credits also include the role of Kagari in Flame VS Blaze.
