Sylvie Feit

Description
Sylvie Feit was a French actress and voice director, born on July 29, 1949, in Argenteuil, France, and died on March 3, 2021, in Cannes. Her career was deeply rooted in performance, beginning with classical dance at age six and later training at the École du Spectacle in Paris from the age of ten. Although she initially prepared for the Opéra, she ultimately chose a path in acting, studying under Teddy Bilis and Raymond Girard before entering the Conservatoire national d'art dramatique in 1966, where she graduated in 1969.

Feit's on-screen career included roles in film and television, with early work in Jean-Pierre Mocky's Les Vierges (1963) and a notable performance as Rosalie in Georges Franju's La Faute de l'abbé Mouret (1970). She also appeared in television series such as Les Cinq Dernières Minutes and Navarro.

However, Feit became a highly recognizable voice to French audiences, particularly for her extensive work in dubbing. She began dubbing at the age of 12 and became one of the regular French voices for numerous international stars. This included Ornella Muti, Bo Derek, Britt Ekland, Teri Garr, and Jamie Lee Curtis, among many others.

In the realm of anime and animated series, Sylvie Feit lent her voice to several iconic characters during the golden age of French animation broadcasting. She was the voice of Joan Landor in the cult classic Capitaine Flam. Another significant role was Furia in San Ku Kaï, and she also voiced Réa in Spectreman. For the film Cyborg 009 Gekijō Ban: Chō Ginga Densetsu, she took on the lead role of Joe Shimamura, also known as Cyborg 009. Her other animation credits included characters in Lupin III: L'Or de Babylone (as Miss Interpol Caramel), Ulysse 31 (as Hercrone), and Tom-Tom et Nana (as Mélanie and Tante Roberte). In addition to performing, she also served as a voice director on projects such as Les Aventures de Zak et Crysta and Tom-Tom et Nana.

Beyond her work in front of the microphone, Feit was deeply involved in the profession of voice acting. In 1995, she founded and directed post-synchronization and dubbing workshops at the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (INA). She was also a member of the board of directors of the artists' rights society ADAMI from 1995 and served as the collection director for the Talents Cannes Adami from 2007 to 2014. Her later years saw a return to the stage, with performances in theatrical productions including Les Misérables in 2007 and Le Cas de la famille Coleman in 2015.
