Minoru Hirota is a Japanese voice actor, narrator, and DJ, born on February 1, 1971, in Hiroshima Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency Office-TB. Hirota stands 180 cm tall and has blood type O.

Hirota's path to the entertainment industry began during his student years at Hiroshima Shudo University, where he studied management. A radio appearance with friends, who had enticed him with the rumor of a celebrity guest, sparked his interest in a performing career. He started as a DJ and narrator in his native Hiroshima, becoming a regular on local television and radio. From 1995 to 1999, he served as the first-ever stadium DJ for the professional soccer team Sanfrecce Hiroshima. In 2005, Hirota relocated to Tokyo to broaden his career opportunities.

As a voice actor, Hirota is known for his deep voice and versatility, capable of portraying a wide range of characters, from tough individuals and villains to comedic and fatherly figures. His anime roles include the judge in Birdy the Mighty: Decode, Gorō Shikabane, also known as General Pepel, in World Conquest Zvezda Plot, and Rōga Aragami in the Future Card Buddyfight series. He voiced Tab in Ultramarine Magmell and has had roles in other notable series such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Naruto Shippūden, Tiger & Bunny, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. His filmography also includes roles in animated films like Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade and Lupin the 3rd: Blood Seal of the Eternal Mermaid.

Beyond anime, Hirota has an extensive body of work in video game voice acting. He is the Japanese voice of Adelbert Steiner in Final Fantasy IX, as well as in later games like Chocobo GP and Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia. He also voices the operator Tachanka in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. His other game credits include characters in the Metal Gear Solid V series, Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn, Granblue Fantasy, and Rise of the Rōnin. Hirota is also active in dubbing foreign films and series, providing the Japanese voice for Andy Serkis's character Ulysses Klaue in several Marvel Cinematic Universe productions, including Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther.
