Fumi Dan is a Japanese actress, voice actress, and essayist born on June 5, 1954, in Tokyo, Japan. She is the daughter of the noted novelist Kazuo Dan. Dan began her entertainment career in 1972 with a role in the film Brutal Tales of Chivalry 9.

While her career is primarily focused on live-action film and television, she has contributed her voice to a small number of animated projects. As noted, she provided the narration for the 1981 television movie Hashire Melos. Her other voice acting credits from that era include the role of Yoko Shiraki in both the 1980 film Ashita no Joe and its 1981 sequel, Ashita no Joe 2. Years later, she voiced the character Mary Douglas in the 1996 animated film Farewell to Nostradamus.

In addition to her on-screen and voice work, Dan has also found success as a writer, winning the 15th Kodansha Essay Award in 1999 for a collection of her essays. Her performance in the 1993 film Bloom in the Moonlight earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 17th Japan Academy Prize. Her extensive television work includes a long-running role as a narrator for the 2016 NHK asadora Toto Neechan and appearances in numerous drama series.
