Description
A tennis ball strikes the eye of Chiaki, a promising young student at an all-girls boarding school, during a practice match. The accident, caused by her well-meaning but clumsy coach Imaoka, leaves her with a blinding injury that threatens to end her athletic career and alter her life forever. Consumed by guilt and harboring romantic feelings for his student, Imaoka seeks out an unconventional solution. He discovers the secluded cliffside residence of Black Jack, a brilliant but unlicensed rogue surgeon known for performing miraculous operations for exorbitant fees. Black Jack agrees to restore Chiakis sight, but on one specific condition: Imaoka must procure a donor cornea from an eye bank by any means necessary.
The transplant is a success, and Chiaki quickly returns to the tennis court, with a budding romance blossoming between her and Imaoka. However, the restored vision brings an unexpected and terrifying side effect. Chiaki begins to see the ghostly apparition of a melancholy, cloak-wearing man who appears to her only when she is near water. Unseen by anyone else, this mysterious visitor, a dramatic pianist named Shiro Kazama, exerts a powerful and inexplicable romantic pull on her. Chiaki soon realizes that her new eye is not merely a replacement; it carries the memories and desires of its original owner, whose tragic past is intertwined with Kazama. As she is drawn deeper into a dangerous, gothic romance that seems destined to end in a double suicide, Chiaki must unravel the secret of the eye she has inherited. Her coach and best friend Kyoko race to uncover the truth behind the corneal donor, hoping to break the supernatural bond before Chiaki is consumed by a passion that is not her own.
