Genaro Vasquez is a Mexican voice actor and broadcaster known for his extensive work in Latin American dubbing. Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, he is a graduate of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where he studied Dramatic Literature and Theater at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. He began his career in acting and voice work in the early 1980s, with his entry into dubbing occurring around 1985. Over the decades, he has become recognized as one of the most versatile voice talents in the industry.

Vasquez is particularly renowned for his numerous roles in the Dragon Ball franchise. He has voiced Android 17 across several series, including Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Super, as well as in the special Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks. He also provided the voice for Tapion in the film Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon. In addition to Android 17, he has voiced several divine characters in the series, including the Supreme Kai (Kaioshin) in Dragon Ball Z Kai, East Kaiohshin and Kibito Kaiōshin in Dragon Ball Super, and Supremo Kaiosama in Dragon Ball Daima.

Beyond Dragon Ball, his filmography includes some of the most iconic characters in anime. He is the voice of the bounty hunter Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop. He was the first voice actor to portray Darien Chiba, also known as Tuxedo Mask, in the Sailor Moon series. In the sports classic Slam Dunk, he voiced Nobunaga Kyota. His work also includes the role of Zongest in Saber Marionette R and Shuji Tsujii in the horror anthology Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre. His range extends to popular Western animation as well, where he has been the voice of Rafiki in The Lion King franchise, Mojo Jojo in The Powerpuff Girls, and Earl and the Dad in Cow and Chicken.

A recurring theme in his career has been the deep connection with fans, which directly led to his return to the role of Android 17 in Dragon Ball Super after a long absence from the character. His performance has been celebrated by audiences across Latin America, and he has attended numerous fan conventions as a guest. While he originally worked in Mexico, he has resided in Toronto, Canada since 2003, where he continues to work in voice acting, dubbing, and theater from his own studio.
