Shūichirō Moriyama was the stage name of Hiroo Ōtsuka, a Japanese actor and voice actor born on July 26, 1934. He was known for his deep, commanding voice and had a prolific career spanning several decades until his death on February 8, 2021, at the age of 86 from pneumonia. Beyond his anime work, Moriyama was highly respected as a dubbing artist, serving as the official Japanese voice-over actor for several major Hollywood stars.
