Shogo Sakata is a Japanese voice actor born on January 23, 1998, in Kumamoto Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent management agency Aoni Production. His inspiration to pursue a career in voice acting came during his junior high school years when he read a light novel and wished to be its main character. To achieve this goal, he enrolled in the Amusement Media Academy after graduating from high school. During his time as a student, he gained practical experience by appearing in the live-action film Jinrō Game: Mad Land and by working on the Japanese-language dub of the 2017 animated film Loving Vincent. He became active in the industry from 2017 onward.

Sakata's career encompasses a wide range of roles in anime television series, animated films, original net animations, and video games. Some of his earliest recurring work included voicing minor characters in long-running series such as One Piece and GeGeGe no Kitaro. His first major recurring roles began to take shape in 2020. He was cast as Akito Ashimine in the anime Tsugumomo, specifically for its second season, Tsugumomo2. That same year, he voiced the character Karin Sasaki in the second chapter of the Fire Force anime series.

In 2021, Sakata's profile continued to grow with several prominent castings. He was cast as Ranmaru Ai, the titular lead role in the anime Fairy Ranmaru. He also voiced the character Leviathan in the theatrical film My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes' Mission.
