Akane Ōmae

Akane Ōmae, also credited as Akane Oomae, is a former Japanese voice actress born on August 21, 1982 in Saitama Prefecture. She began her voice acting career in the early 2000s and was active until her retirement in 2010. She was affiliated with the talent agency Ken Production during her time in the industry.

Ōmae is best known for her role as Sakurako Shiina in the various adaptations of the Mahō Sensei Negima! franchise. She first voiced the character in the 2005 Mahou Sensei Negima! television series and continued the role in the 2006 series Negima!?, as well as the original video animations Mahō Sensei Negima!: Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba and Mahō Sensei Negima!: Mō Hitotsu no Sekai. This character was one of the students in Negi Springfield's class and a member of the school's cheerleading club. Following Ōmae's retirement, the role of Sakurako Shiina was subsequently voiced by Chiaki Omigawa.

Beyond the Negima! franchise, her anime roles include Lazuli-chan in the Hamtaro series and Misako in Yakeato no, Okashi no Ki. She also provided the voice for Sonou Mori in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Chihiro in Azumanga Daioh, Cecil in Gravion and Gravion Zwei, Miku Ayase in Shigofumi, Kaede Matsushiro in Yakitate!! Japan, and a number of supporting roles in series such as One Piece and Kekkaishi. In video games, she voiced Princess Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, released in 2009. Her work also included dubbing foreign films into Japanese, contributing to titles such as Nim's Island and Joan of Arc. Akane Ōmae retired from voice acting at the end of October 2010 to pursue other professional opportunities.
